...How do you make your resolution a reality?

Tis the season … for resolutions.  Many of us make them and many of us abandon them by the end of January.   How do you keep working on a resolution?  Here are several ideas that might help you achieve the resolutions you set.

1.  Make it something you really want.  We all want things but the question is – how badly do you want this?  Is this something that will make you more successful, make you more money? How important is this to you?

2.  Be specific- this one sounds simple enough but sometimes when we aren’t very specific when we decide to accomplish a goal.  It helps if you make a plan to go along with the resolution.  This helps break it down into steps that you can follow.

3.  Make notes. I have found that when dieting (yes it will be on my list for this year again!) if I keep a food diary I understand what I’ve eaten that day and what I can have without messing up my diet.  You become more aware of what you are doing when you focus on it by writing.

4.  Look for support.  Whatever you are trying to achieve it never hurts to have someone in your corner cheering you on. It helps on those days when you just don’t feel like you want to stay on track.
